Great Tips to Replace Bathroom Tiles

Tiles are often used in bathroom floorings and on the bathroom’s walls. However, with the passage of time and other factors, it’s not a surprise that some of these tiles may become cracked. In order to replace bathroom tiles, it is important for you not to try levering off the broken tile with a screwdriver or a knife since this may cause damage to the other surrounding tiles.

In order to replace bathroom tiles, you must make sure that the new tile you’re going to place in lieu of the broken tile is the same match. If you can’t find your tile’s original design anywhere then you may think of putting in a tile which complements the color scheme of the other tiles in the room. You should also gather the materials and tools you need and cover any bath, basin, or vanity top. You might cause more damage if you accidentally drop one of your tools in any uncovered area.

To replace bathroom tiles, you should first rake out any grout in the area which surrounds the broken tile. This is done so that this tile is separated from the other undamaged tiles. Starting from the center of the tile, you can bore or drill a hole in the center of the tile. From the center, you can then chip off the tile with a hammer or a chisel.

Your safety comes first, of course, so be sure to wear safety glasses so that nothing gets into your eyes. You should also make sure that your fingers won’t get harmed while you’re sweeping up the debris.

After the tile has been removed, you should carefully clean out the edges. To prepare the undersurface for the new tile, you can level out the area’s surface and seal porous materials like gypsum plaster. You should also make sure that the area is spotless and dry.

The next step to replace bathroom tiles is to check if the new tile will fit into the space you’ve created. Once you’re sure, you can spread adhesive onto the back of the new tile and then press the tile firmly into place. Once the adhesive is dry, you should regrout the joint. Before the grout dries, you should wipe any excess grout off of the tile. The last step is to polish the new tile that you’ve just installed with a clean rag so that it’ll blend in with the others.

Now the bathroom tiles look as good as new. Remember to clean up after yourself so that there won’t be any accidents.
